A chalet on the alp

A proper wooden chalet on the alp, green shutters and a meadow of wildflowers, with the Gastlosen ridge on the skyline. Twenty-nine beds across a handful of rooms, a big warm kitchen, and a long-table dining room where we will spend the evenings.

The plan

We share the cooking, the chores, and the view.

We cook together

All the meals are made at the house, as a group. Hilary organises the groceries, so come hungry and ready to chop, stir, and wash up in good company.

Sleeping

The contribution for both nights is around 50 CHF, tourist tax included, and less if more of us come. Beds and mattresses are provided. Please bring your own sleeping bag.

Out the door

Cross-country trails and hikes toward Hundsrügg leave from the doorstep, and there is a grill and a meadow for the long, bright hours between meals.

Up to the Jaunpass

The house sits at 1554 m near Boltigen, in the Berner Oberland. Two ways up, and a short walk either way.

By train

By car

In summer

Drive right up to the house. Two parking spaces are waiting.

In winter

Park up at the Jaunpass, then walk the last twelve minutes in.

No coach access: it is a twelve-minute walk from the nearest road either way.

    Essential. Beds and mattresses are there, bedding is not.

    It is 1554 metres and it is April.
